Bounedjah: Our team works as a group to win every game, we want to reach the Qatar Cup final

Al-Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah stressed on the readiness of his side ahead of the upcoming game against Al-Rayyan in the 2021 Qatar Cup semi-final.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Bounedjah said: “Al-Rayyan is a good team and we will be high focused to win this game. Everyone will place Al-Sadd as favourites, but the cup matches are different. In the 2020 Amir Cup final, everyone expected Al-Sadd to win by a great score, but Al-Arabi was a strong rival and therefore we must be careful and present our best against Al-Rayyan in order to win and advance to the final.” ... 

Xavi: It won’t be an easy game against Al-Rayyan, it will be an early final

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez described his side’s next match against Al Rayyan, in the semi-finals of the 2021 Qatar Cup, as an “early final”.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “We in Al Sadd want to win this cup, which is a completely different tournament from the league. We have a big challenge this season, which is to win all the tournaments and I am proud of the players because they have done an excellent job.” ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Arabi 2-1

Al-Sadd continued their run of victories in the Qatargas U-23 League, after defeating Al-Arabi 2-1 in the Round 16 game which was played on Tuesday at Al-Shamal Stadium.

With this victory, the Wolves maintained their lead in the league with a tally of 41 points. Al-Arabi took the lead in the 62nd minute through Ahmed Salim Hajjaj, before Al-Sadd overturned the scoreline through two late goals from Talal Bahzad, in the 88th minute, and then substitute Hassan Ahmed in the 90th minute. ... 

Xavi: Happy to win, it was a difficult game

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his happiness after what he described as an important 3-0 victory over Al-Ahli in Round 16 of the QNB Stars League.

In his statement after the match, Xavi told the club’s website: “It was a difficult match, Al-Ahly played man-to-man, they made the match difficult for us and did not allow us to play in our usual way.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd inch closer to the title after 3-0 win over Al-Ahli

Al-Sadd defeated Al-Ahli 3-0 in their QNB Stars League Round 16 game which was played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.

This result means that the Wolves maintain their lead at the top of the QNB Stars League table with 44 points from 16 games. Baghdad Bounedjah (23′) and Khoukhi Boualem (26′) gave Al-Sadd a two-goal lead at halftime, while substitute Tarek Salman scored the third (88’) to conclude the scoring. ... 

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Ahli clash

The Al-Sadd first team concluded their preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 16 game against Al-Ahli, with the final training session on Friday evening. The match is set to kick off at 6:15 PM on Saturday at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The coaching staff, led by Xavi Hernandez, implemented physical exercises and some light technical skills training, before announcing the 23-member matchday squad which is as follows: ...

Al-Sadd’s Hussam Kamal spoke about the difficulty of his side’s upcoming game with Al-Ahli in Round 16 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Hussam said: “A difficult match awaits us, coming after a break and all the upcoming matches will be difficult. We will look to maintain our lead by continuing the run of victories in the next game against Al-Ahli.” ...
