Al-Sadd defender Tarek Salman stressed the importance of the team’s 6–4 victory over Al-Shamal and qualification to the semi-finals of the Amir Cup.
Speaking after the win and qualification, Tarek Salman said: “We started the match perfectly and managed to score four early goals, but in the second half Al-Shamal came back strongly into the game.”
He added: “Al-Shamal did not fall short and delivered a great performance. It was an exciting and entertaining match that featured many goals from both sides, but in the end we managed to decide the game thanks to our experience and concentration in the key moments.”
He continued: “The next match against Al-Duhail will be an extremely difficult challenge because they are a very strong opponent, but we will enter the match with great focus because our eyes are on the title.”
Tarek Salman concluded: “The competition will not be easy at this stage, but our objective is clear — to win our third title this season, and we will fight to achieve that goal.”
