Al-Sadd forward Akram Afif stressed the importance of preparing well for the upcoming match against Al-Shamal in Round 4 of the QNB Stars League.
Speaking during the match press conference: “We must be fully prepared for the next match. Al Shamal defeated Qatar SC and they took the lead against Al Sailiya SC before losing the match.”
He added: “The match will not be easy for both teams. We have 9 points at the top, but Al-Shamal can trouble us, and at the same time we can make the match easier for ourselves. Our goal is to win and end the match in a way that satisfies us and to collect the three points.”
The Qatari international star continued: “All the team’s players are ready. We have a large squad of excellent players, and everyone is waiting for the opportunity to play in order and gave a great effort to help the team win.”
Regarding the recent victory in the Clasico match against Al-Rayyan, Afif said: “Hashim Ali’s goal was the that who brought Al-Rayyan back to the match. If the first half had ended with a 3-0 score, the scenario of the match would have changed completely. We thank God for the victory, which gives us a great motivation in the league campaign.”
Afif also noted that Al Sadd fans are the real support for the team, and said: “We will strive to win all the matches and all the tournaments, for the Al Sadd fans. They are always the real suppot for us on the pitch.”
