Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Ooredoo Cup final against Al-Arabi

Al-Sadd wrapped up preparations for the 2019-20 Ooredoo Cup final against Al-Arabi, with their final training session on Friday evening. The match is set to be played on Saturday, October 10, at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

The Wolves finished third in the Group A with 7 points (Al-Sadd 1-5 Al-Wakra, Al-Sadd 3-1 Al-Shahaniya, Al-Ahli 4-3 Al-Sadd, Al-Sadd 2-2 Umm Salal, Al-Rayyan 0-6 Al-Sadd) to qualify for the quarterfinals, where they defeated Qatar SC on penalties, before overcoming Al-Ahli 2-0 in the semifinals.

11 Al-Sadd players will miss the game as they are away on international duty. This includes 10 Qatari internationals who are preparing for the friendly against Ghana on October 12, in addition to the Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah, who has also joined his national team camp during the current international break.

The Qatar national team squad includes the following Al-Sadd players: Saad Al-Dosari, Abdulkarim Hassan, Khokhi Boualem, Tarek Salman, Musaab Khidir, Akram Afif, Hassan Al-Haydos, Muhammad Waad, Pedro, and Ahmed Suhail.

In Saturday’s final, Al-Sadd will rely on several players from the U-23 team. The coaching staff led by Xavi Hernandez focused on preparing them for the game with light technical drills and some tactical training as well, during the last training session.

After the end of the session, the team left for an overnight camp at the Messila Hotel, from where they will go to the stadium on Saturday.
