Al-Sadd defeat Al-Arabi 3-1 to reach Qatar Cup final

Al-Sadd reached the 2023 Qatar Cup final after defeating Al-Arabi 3-1 in the semifinal which was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Thursday.

The match saw three red cards – two for Al-Arabi (Ahmed Suhail and Marc Muniesa) and one for Al-Sadd (Tarek Salman).

Baghdad Bounedjah scored the opening goal for the Wolves in the 41st minute, finding his way in between several defenders before managing a shot that went in past Mahmoud Abunada.

Just before halftime, Jung Woo-young made it 2-0 to Al-Sadd, with a header off Santi Cazorla’s delivery from a free-kick.

In the second half, Al-Sadd was able to add a third goal, when substitute Musaab Khidir completed a 40-pass move starting from the goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham, in the 79th minute.

Al-Arabi pulled a goal back in the 86th minute when Khoukhi Boualem accidentally put the ball in his own net.
