Saad, Ali and Salem return to the squad as Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Wakrah clash

The Al-Sadd first team concluded their preparations ahead of the QNB Stars League Round 8 match against Al Wakrah, which will be played on Tuesday evening at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

The Wolves go into the match sitting at the top of the league with 19 points from 6 wins and a draw, while Al-Wakrah are ranked sixth with 10 points. Al-Sadd will look to continue their run of victories to remain at the top of the table. ... 

Tabata: We respect Al-Wakrah, but we will do everything to win this game

Al-Sadd’s Rodrigo Tabata spoke of his side’s respect for their upcoming QNB Stars League opponents Al-Wakrah, but added that the Wolves are looking to give their best and get the three points to stay on top of the league.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Tabata said: “We respect Al-Wakrah, but we will do everything to win this game. We trained hard this week. I wish everybody will play at a high level in this game, to win and get the three points.” ... 

Xavi: We cannot relax, we have to give our best to win against Al Wakrah

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the media ahead of the QNB Stars League Round 8 game against Al-Wakrah, describing the clash as “difficult” and sounding a warning that his team “cannot relax.”

“We have our next game against Al-Wakrah. We are in a very good position, we are at the top of the table. Of course, the objective of the season is to win this title. But every game will be really difficult. Now we face Al-Wakrah and if you remember, we lost 2-1 against them last season,” Xavi remarked. ... 

Internationals return as Al-Sadd hold main training session ahead of Al-Wakrah clash

Al-Sadd’s Qatari internationals returned to the club for training on Sunday, as the first team stepped up preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 8 game against Al-Wakrah, which is to be played on Tuesday at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

The nine Qatari internationals – Hassan Al-Haydos, Meshaal Barsham, Khoukhi Boualem, Musaab Khidir, Mohammed Waad, Akram Afif, Tarek Salman, Yousuf Abdurisag and Abdelkarim Hassan – returned after the national team’s game against Bangladesh in the Asian joint qualifiers. ... 

Qatargas U23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Gharafa 2-1

Al-Sadd climbed to the top of the Qatargas U23 League table with a 2-1 win over Al-Gharafa, in the Round 8 game which was played at Al Shamal Stadium on Saturday.

The result took Al-Sadd’s points tally to 18, moving past Al-Gharafa to claim top spot on the league table.

Hassan Ahmed put Al-Sadd in the lead in the 19th minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the box, before Ali Asad made it 2-0 in the 41st minute. Al-Gharafa then reduced the deficit through Mohammed Ali Jamin in the 62nd minute. Al-Sadd goalkeeper Jehad Mohammad also saved two penalties in the 56th and 64th minutes. ... 

Al-Sadd resume training to prepare for Al-Wakrah

The Al Sadd first team resumed its training on Wednesday, after the break followed the 3-1 victory over Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.

The Wolves are preparing to face Al-Wakrah in the Round 8 game which will be played on Tuesday, December 8, at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. Al-Sadd are currently on top of the league table with 19 points. ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Umm Salal 7-0

Al-Sadd defeated Umm Salal 7-0 in their Qatargas U-23 League Round 7 game, which was played at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium on Sunday.

The result increased Al-Sadd’s tally to 15 points from 7 games in the league table, where they occupy third place. The game saw the participation of goalkeeper Saad Al-Dosari, after his recovery from the injury that had ruled him out since mid-October, in addition to Ali Asad and Salem Al-Hajri, who had both been out of action for almost 10 months due to Achilles tendon injuries. ... 

Mohammed Waad: We got a deserved victory

Al-Sadd youngster Mohamed Waad spoke of his team’s performance after the 3-1 victory over Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking to the meda after the match, Waad said: “We thank God for the deserved victory against Umm Salal, which is a good team. We were not complacent, but we were playing against a good team. There were some mistakes that we made and we must correct them in the upcoming matches.” ...

Al-Sadd defeated Umm Salal 3-1 in their QNB Stars League Round 7 game which was played at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium on Friday.

This result ensures that the Wolves remain top of the QNB Stars League table with 19 points from 7 games. Akram Afif (35’), Santi Cazorla (50’), and Hassan Al-Haydos (90+1’) scored for Al-Sadd, while Roozbeh Cheshmi (40’) netted the lone goal for Umm Salal. ...

Al-Sadd’s young forward Hashim Ali spoke of his team’s desire to win their upcoming game against Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.
