Al-Sadd hold main training session ahead of Al-Gharafa clash

The Al Sadd first team held its main training session on Friday, in preparation for facing Al Gharafa in Round 6 of the QNB Stars League.

Al-Sadd go into the game with great enthusiasm after the exciting 4-0 victory over Al-Arabi in the fifth round, which extended their lead at the top of the league with a tally of 15 points, after five wins out of five matches. Al-Gharafa, meanwhile, occupy third place with 9 points. ... 

Guilherme: We are preparing well for the game against Al-Gharafa, our aim is to get all three points

Al-Sadd midifielder Guilherme Torres emphasised the importance of his side’s upcoming game against Al-Gharafa and spoke of the need to get all three points.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Guilherme said: “We know that it will be a great game against a big rival team that’s competing with us. It will be a very difficult game but we are training hard and we are preparing ourselves. Our teammates are joining us now and they can help us.” ... 

Xavi: Facing Al-Gharafa will be difficult, it’s very important to get these three points

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez spoke of the difficulty of the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 6 game against Al-Gharafa, while expressing his relief at the return of Santi Cazorla after his injury.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “In the next game we will play against Al-Gharafa, a big team and one of the best in the league. This means that getting three points will be really complicated. They are playing well and they are in a high position in the table.” ... 

Al-Sadd continue training without internationals

The Al-Sadd first team coaching staff, led by Xavi Hernandez, intensified its preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 6 match against Al Gharafa, which will be played next Sunday, the 17th of October, at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium.

Tuesday’s training session was held in the absence of the team’s international players, who are currently with the senior and the u-23 Qatar national teams, in addition to the trio of Baghdad Bounedjah, Andre Ayew, and Jung Woo-young. ... 

Al-Sadd resume training

The Al-Sadd first team squad resumed training on Tuesday, after a four-day break which followed the 4-0 win over Al-Arabi in Round 5 of the QNB Stars League.

The Wolves are at the top of the league standings with 15 points from five consecutive victories.

The first team is currently missing 16 players, with 11 players away with the senior Qatar national team (Saad Al-Dosari, Mishaal Barshim, Pedro Miguel, Musab Khader, Tarek Salman, Abdulkarim Hassan, Yusuf Abdurisag, Muhammad Waad, Hassan Al Haydos, Ali Asad, Akram Afif) for the games against Portugal and Ireland in the European qualifiers. ... 

Xavi: We were better than Al-Arabi, I want to thank the fans for their support

Al-Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez shared his happiness after his side defeated Al-Arabi 4-0 in Round 5 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking after the match, Xavi said: “It was a well-deserved victory. We were better than Al-Arabi and we did not suffer during the match. We created many opportunities and succeeded in securing the game in the second half by scoring four goals, with a more than excellent performance.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Arabi 4-0

Al-Sadd defeated Al-Arabi 4-0 in the QNB Stars League Round 5 clash at the Khalifa International Stadium on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Al-Sadd scored through Baghdad Bounedjah (59′, 75′), Hassan Al-Haydos (61′) and Andre Ayew (82′) to secure the big derby win. The result means Al-Sadd top the league table with 15 points. ... 

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Arabi clash

The Al-Sadd first team concluded their preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 5 game against Al-Arabi, with a final training session on Thursday. The match is set to kick off at 7:15 PM on Friday at Khalifa International Stadium.

The Wolves come into the game occupying top spot in the league table with a tally of 12 points, after winning the first four matches against Al-Sailiya, Qatar, Al-Rayyan and Al-Shamal. Al-Arabi are in third place with 9 points from 3 wins and a loss. ... 

Tabata: We are ready for the derby and we will work to improve in every game

Al-Sadd first team player Rodrigo Tabata stressed the importance of the upcoming game against Al-Arabi in Round 5 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Tabata said: “It’s a very big game and there will be a good atmosphere. We respect Al-Arabi. They have started very well in the league. We too have started well and we’ll try to do our best to win the match.” ...
