Al Sadd head coach Sergio Alegre spoke about the importance of the upcoming match against Umm Salal, as part of Week 7 of the 2025–2026 Doha Bank Stars League season.

Alegre said during the pre-match press conference:
“The game against Umm Salal will definitely be difficult. They have performed well in all their matches so far, except the last one against Al Shamal. But they have experienced players and a seasoned coach. ...

Al Sadd player Mohammed Waad expressed his happiness after his team’s 5–1 victory over Al Rayyan in the top clash of the ninth round of the Doha Bank Stars League.

We weren’t at our best at the start of the season, but we came back and delivered in the Clasico.
