Bounedjah: Playing against Al Rayyan is always enjoyable, winning the Amir Cup is a motivation

Al Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah has stressed on the importance of his side’s upcoming QNB Stars League clash against Al-Rayyan, and the need to be focused.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Bounedjah said: “The next match against Al Rayyan is the Clasico. It is a huge match and it is always enjoyable, and the team with the most concentration will get the points.” ...

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez spoke of the importance of his side’s upcoming Qatar Clasico clash with Al-Rayyan in the QNB Stars League, and stressed on the need to continue winning.

“We have a new Clasico coming up, and it’s a very important game for us because it means a lot in footballing terms, of course, and it’s also very important for the competition because we are 12 points ahead of Al Rayyan.” ... 

Al-Messila Resort celebrates Al-Sadd’s Amir Cup triumph

The management of Al-Messila Resort & Spa held a celebration on Monday evening, to honur the Al-Sadd squad after their triumph in the 2020 Amir Cup final. The Wolves were crowned with the new edition of the trophy, after defeating Al-Arabi 2-1 at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.

The resort management celebrated with players and coaching staff, wishing the team continued success. The Al-Sadd team management extended their thanks and appreciation to the management of Al-Messila Resort & Spa for this unique gesture on their part, and wished that the fruitful cooperation between the two sides will continue during the coming period. ... 

Al-Sadd hold main training session to prepare for Al-Rayyan

The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Monday evening at the club’s training centre, in preparation for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 10 clash with Al-Rayyan, which will kick off at 6:30 PM at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Wednesday.

The Wolves are coming off the back of their Amir Cup triumph, and go into this game with a tally of 25 points, sitting at the top of the league table. Meanwhile, Al-Rayyan in sixth position with 13 points. ... 

Xavi: Delighted to win the Amir Cup, I am proud of my players

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez spoke of his happiness after winning the 2020 Amir Cup with a 2-1 triumph over Al-Arabi in the final.

“I am proud of my players who displayed a high-level performance in an excellent final. We won a big tournament and we deserve it, after the good performance throughout the competition and also in this game,” said the coach. ... 

Al-Sadd win 73rd overall title

Al-Sadd added to their trophy gallery with their triumph in the 2020 Amir Cup final over Al-Arabi, bringing their overall title count to 73.

The 2-1 win over Al-Arabi at Al-Rayyan Stadium also marked the Wolves’ 17th title in the history of the competition.

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for the Amir Cup final

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of Al-Sadd, the football first team held their final training session on Thursday at Al-Rayyan Stadium, ahead of facing Al-Arabi in the 2020 Amir Cup final.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed attended the game to show his support for the coaching staff and the players, before the important match, during which Al-Sadd will look to win the title for the 17th time. Head of Football Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali was also present at the training session, alongside Abdulaziz Al Attiyah. ...

Al-Sadd captain Hassan Al-Haydos described his side’s upcoming match against Al-Arabi in the Amir Cup final as a crucial game, which will be decided by “small details”.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Al Haydos said: “Whoever expects that the match to be easy for Al Sadd knows nothing about football. The final will be decided by small details.” ...
