Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Wakrah 1-0

Al-Sadd continued their run of victories in the Qatargas U-23 League, defeating Al-Wakrah 1-0 in the Round 9 game which was played on Friday at Al Shamal Stadium.

The win kept Al-Sadd at the top of the league standings with 21 points.

Mohammed Nasser Almanai scored the lone goal of the game in the 32nd minute, with a great finish off a cross from Abdullah Bader. ...

The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Friday evening, ahead of the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 9 game against Al Gharafa.

The Wolves will go into the game in high spirits after they defeated Al Wakrah 4-1 to remain on top of the league table with 22 points. Al Gharafa are in second place with 18 points. ... 

Abdullah Al Athba appointed as referee for Al Sadd v Al Gharafa

The Qatar Football Association has announced the list of referees for the QNB Stars League Round 9 game between Al Sadd and Al Gharafa which will be played on Sunday at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. 

Abdullah Al-Athba will be the main referee, and he will be assisted by Talib Salem and Youssef Aref. Mohammed Al-Obaidly is the fourth official, while Meshari Al-Shammari and Khaled Ayed are the video assistant referees. ... 

Xavi: We controlled the match, we must continue like this

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez spoke of the importance of his side’s 4-1 win over Al-Wakrah, in the QNB Stars League Round 8 game which was played on Tuesday.

Speaking to the club website after the game, Xavi said: “We are going through a great moment. We played in a excellent way against Al-Wakrah, a good team that showed great desire in this game.” ... 

Baghdad Bounedjah: We started the match well, this win will push us to get more points

Al-Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah expressed his happiness after his side’s 4-1 win over Al-Wakrah in Round 8 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking to the media after the match, Bounedjah said: “Thank God for this victory, we started the first half with full force and managed to score two goals, and in the second half also we kept the ball well. Al-Wakrah scored a goal, but we came back and scored the third and fourth goals.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd stay top after 4-1 win over Al-Wakrah

Al-Sadd defeated Al-Wakrah 4-1 in their QNB Stars League Round 8 clash, which was played at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Tuesday.

Al-Sadd’s Rodrigo Tabata spoke of his side’s respect for their upcoming QNB Stars League opponents Al-Wakrah, but added that the Wolves are looking to give their best and get the three points to stay on top of the league.

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the media ahead of the QNB Stars League Round 8 game against Al-Wakrah, describing the clash as “difficult” and sounding a warning that his team “cannot relax.”

“We have our next game against Al-Wakrah. We are in a very good position, we are at the top of the table. Of course, the objective of the season is to win this title. The nine Qatari internationals – Hassan Al-Haydos, Meshaal Barsham, Khoukhi Boualem, Musaab Khidir, Mohammed Waad, Akram Afif, Tarek Salman, Yousuf Abdurisag and Abdelkarim Hassan – returned after the national team’s game against Bangladesh in the Asian joint qualifiers. ...
