Ooredoo Cup: Al-Sadd qualify for semifinals despite defeat to Qatar SC

Al-Sadd qualified for the semi-finals of the 2022-23 Ooredoo Cup, despite a 2-1 loss to Qatar SC in their final group match that was played on Friday at Qatar University Pitch 4.

The Wolves finished in second place in Group A with 9 points from 3 victories and two defeats.

Goals from Andre Ayew in the 10th minute, and Rodrigo Tabata in the 15th minute had given Al-Sadd a two-goal cushion, but Qatar SC came back through strikes from Abdulrahman Al-Jassem (69′), Badr Banoun (83′) and Matheus Jussa (83′). ...

Al Sadd suffered their first defeat in the 2022-23 Ooredoo Cup on Saturday, with a 3-2 loss to Umm Salal in the Group A third round game, which was played at the Al Egla 4 Pitch.
