Felix Sanchez: Ready to face Al-Shamal, eager to restart the league

Al-Sadd head coach Félix Sánchez has emphasised his side’s readiness for their upcoming match against Al Shamal in Week 12 of the Ooredoo Stars League, set to take place on Sunday evening at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Félix Sánchez said: “We are starting the second half of the league. We know we faced many difficulties against Al Shamal in the first match of the league. We are fully aware that we will be up against a team that has been achieving very good results, with strong attacking capabilities and solid organisation.”

The Al Sadd coach added: “We have the experience from the first match with them, and we are eager to start the league again. I believe the players are ready and motivated to make a strong return.”

He continued: “We now understand that every match is increasingly important for securing points if we want to compete for the title. We have a very important match against Al Shamal, and we must play at our highest level.”

On competing in the league, Félix said: “Of course, it’s been a long time without official matches, and there have been different circumstances for some players. Some were with the national team and had a different schedule compared to those training here. Now we have all come together over the past few days, and our focus is on returning to official competitions.”

He concluded: “I feel the players are ready and understand that we have many important matches ahead. I believe everyone is prepared to give their best to help the team.”

Meanwhile, Al Sadd player Yousef Al Balushi stressed the importance of the upcoming clash against Al Shamal in Week 12 of the QNB Stars League.

Yousef said: “We have a tough match ahead against Al Shamal. We must stay focused and avoid making mistakes. We will try to follow the coach’s instructions to secure the three points.”

The Al Sadd goalkeeper added: “The race for the top spot is ongoing. We are progressing step by step and not focusing on other teams. Our goal is to work hard and continue achieving more victories.”
