Al-Sadd head coach Javi Gracia spoke of the importance of the upcoming clash against Al-Khor in Round 10 of the QNB Stars League, which will be the Spaniard’s first game in charge of the team.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “It’s our first game, and it’s the most important game for us. We know how important it is to start well, with three points.”
“We were training with just a part of the squad, but we are looking forward to training with the full team and to prepare as well as possible for the next game.”
He added: “The available players did really well. We had the chance to work with young players and some of the first team players.”
“We needed to know more about them and I think it was something really good for us, as our first experience here in Qatar.”
As for the team’s Qatari internationals, Gracia remarked: “In my opinion, the international players played really well in the Arab Cup. They were really close to winning the title, and only little details changed things.”
“But in my opinion, they deserve recognition because all of them played really well.”
