Al Sadd coach Javi Gracia stressed the importance of his side’s upcoming game against Al Gharafa in Round 17 of the QNB Stars League.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “We begin the month of February with a lot of matches ahead of us. It’s a busy month for us. We have to play 6 matches. We play every 3-4 days and we have to be ready for that, starting from the match against Al-Gharafa on Saturday.”
He added: “We know that it is an important game for us as always. Al-Gharafa is a well-organised team and they have big names.”
“We have to maintain our attitude like we did in the last match. We have to keep showing our best face.”
Regarding his side’s performance in the previous game against Al Wakrah, he said: “I think the players were outstanding in the last match and they did really well. It was a big match. We scored six goals, kept another clean sheet and showed our ambition and mentality until the end.”
“I think it was a complete game and we have to repeat it in all the matches.”
Gracia also said: “This is the mentality of our players, trying to maintain our ambition and our best attitude and to show our best performance.”
“To be honest, I don’t think they need me to remind them how important the next three points are. They know it. They are always working hard and trying to improve in every training session.”
Gracia concluded by saying: “This is the right way for us. We shouldn’t waste time thinking about the position in the table or the difference in points. We have to be focused on the next training session and try to do as well as possible.”
“In this way, the matches will turn out well for us.”
