Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia stressed the importance of the upcoming Group E clash against Al-Wehdat of Jordan in the third round of the AFC Champions League 2022 group stage.
Speaking during the match press conference, saying, Gracia said: “The next match is an opportunity to win. In the last two matches, we deserved better, but we didn’t get what we wanted.”
He added, “We must be more effective against Al-Wehdat in order to get the three points. There are 4 matches left and we must focus first on tomorrow’s match, in which there we can’t afford to lose any point.”
When asked about considering the upcoming match as the last chance for the team to progress in the tournament, Gracia said: “We paid a high price because of the mistakes and lost many points against Nasaf and Al-Faisaly. The players feel responsible and we have the confidence to provide the best in the upcoming matches.”
He concluded by saying: “We have to compete strongly and win. I know how keen the players are and I know that they feel the importance of the next match.”
