QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd lose to Al-Markhiya in opening game

Al-Sadd lost 4-3 to Al-Markhiya in the 2022-23 QNB Stars League Round 1 game which was played on Monday at the Khalifa International Stadium.

Rodrigo Tabata scored the opening goal for Al-Sadd from a free-kick in the 5th minute, and Baghdad Bounedjah doubled the Wolves’ advantage with a 37th minute strike.

However, Al-Markhiya reduced the deficit through Jugurtha Hamroun in first half stoppage time, before they went on to score three goals in the second half via Ayman Hussein (2) and Ali Al-Mohannadi to take a 4-2 lead.

Santi Cazorla pulled a goal back for Al-Sadd, with a strike in the second minute of second half stoppage time.
