Al-Sadd defeat Shabab Al-Ahli 3-2 to lift Qatar-UAE Super Shield title

Al Sadd were crowned champions of the third edition of the Qatar–UAE Super Shield after defeating UAE side Shabab Al Ahli 3–2 in the match that was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Al Sadd Club, on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Shabab Al Ahli opened the scoring through Yuri César in the 30th minute, before Roberto Firmino equalised for Al Sadd from the penalty spot in the 55th minute. Akram Afif then put Al Sadd ahead in the 74th minute, but Mohammed Juma brought Shabab Al Ahli level again in the 78th minute. Deep into stoppage time, Firmino struck once more (90+6′) to seal the victory for Al Sadd. ... 

Roberto Mancini: A tough challenge awaits us against Shabab Al Ahli, and I’m looking forward to my first title with Al Sadd

Italian coach Roberto Mancini confirmed that Al Sadd are fully ready to face Shabab Al Ahli in the Qatar-UAE Super Shield, which will be played on Saturday evening, January 24, 2026, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Mancini said: “The team is in full readiness after completing its preparations over the past few days for a match in which we are aiming to win and secure our first title of the current season. The match will be difficult, as we are facing a strong opponent with high-quality players.” ... 

Tarek Salman: It was a difficult game against a strong opponent

Al-Sadd defender Tarek Salman expressed his happiness with the important victory that his side achieved with a 2–0 win over Al Ahli, in Round 13 of the Doha Bank Stars League.

Speaking after the match, Tarek said: “It was a very difficult match against a strong opponent like Al Ahli. We were patient and kept working until we managed to secure the win and collect the three points.” ... 

Doha Bank Stars League: Al-Sadd beat Al-Ahli 2-0

Al Sadd secured a 2–0 victory over Al Ahli in Round 13 of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2025–2026 season. The match was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Al Sadd claimed an exciting 3–2 victory over Qatar SC in Round 12 of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2025–2026 season. The match was played at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

With this win, Al Sadd raised their tally to 23 points and moved up to second place in the league table.
