Al-Sadd reached the final of the Emir Cup 2021, after defeating Al-Arabi 3-0 in the semifinal clash that took place on Sunday at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium

The Wolves will now await the winner of thr other semifinal between Al-Duhail and Al-Rayyan.

Nam Tae-hee opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a header, after a cross delivered by Yousuf Abdurisag from the right. Despite creating several more chances, Al Sadd couldn’t score again in the first half but after the break, the team was finally able to add to their lead. ... 

Al-Sadd’s Rodrigo Tabata spoke of the importance of the next match against Al-Arabi in the semi-final of the Amir Cup.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Tabata said: “A very important match awaits us against Al-Arabi in the semi-finals of the Amir Cup. We are ready and expect the match to be very competitive.” ... 

The Al Sadd first team held its main training session today, Friday, at the club’s secondary pitch, in preparation for the game against Al-Arabi in the semi-finals of the Amir Cup 2021.

The Al-Sadd first team resumed training on Monday, at the club’s training centre, after a three-day break which followed the end of the 2021 AFC Champions League campaign.

The Wolves are preparing for the Amir Cup semi-final against the Al-Arabi, which will kick off at 10 PM on Sunday, the 9th of May at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. ... 

Al-Sadd assistant coach Sergio Alegre expressed his dissatisfaction after his side lost 2-1 to Al-Nassr in the sixth and final matchday of the AFC Champions League group stage.

Speaking at the press conference after the match, Sergio said: “It was an intense match. We were hoping to win and ensure qualification. We played well in the first 20 minutes, but after the first goal of Al-Nassr, we fell back. We lost in some positions and tried to compensate in the last few minutes but we did not succeed.” ... 

Al-Sadd’s Santi Cazorla described his side’s upcoming AFC Champions League game against Al-Nassr as difficult and decisive, and stressed on the desire to win.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Cazorla: “It will be a difficult and decisive match, and it is the last game in the group. We as a team are fully prepared to win against Al-Nassr and to get the three points.” ... 

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the media on Wednesday and stressed on the importance of the upcoming game against Al-Nassr, in the sixth and final round of the 2021 AFC Champions League group stage.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “It’s another final for us and we have to win it. It’s a very important match for us, to ensure top spot in the group and to qualify for the next stage.” ... 

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez praised his players after the 1-0 win over Iran’s Foolad in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League group stage.

In his statement to the media after the match, Xavi said: “We played a wonderful match, it was a great battle with Foolad. The Al Sadd players were better and we deserve to win. Now we are at the top of the most difficult group in the tournament.” ... 

Al-Sadd rose to the top of Group D in the AFC Champions League after a 1-0 victory over Iran’s Foolad, in the Matchday 5 game that was played on Monday at Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.

Nam Tae-hee scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute. With this victory, the Wolves climbed to the top of the group with a tally of 10 points. ... 

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham spoke of the difficulty of the upcoming game against Foolad on Matchday 5 of the AFC Champions League group stage, and said his side is ready for the clash.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Meshaal said: “The next match against Foolad will be difficult. It is a team that defends well and plays on the counter, which is very dangerous.” ...
