Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his delight after his side’s 3-1 win over Al-Duhail in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League.
Speaking to the club website after the game, Xavi said: “We played an amazing game and I am proud of the performance of all the players. It was a very good performance and we managed to come back after score thrice after conceding a goal.”
He added: “The performance was great and the team’s positive and collective spirit was the basis for this important win in our campaign for the league title.”
Xavi also pointed out that Al-Sadd has won 9 of their last 11 games against Al-Duhail, losing once and drawing once.
“We were the better side. We changed the dynamics of Qatari football and we have always been the best.”
“We must continue working. We haven’t achieved anything yet and we must maintain the lead at the top of the table until the end.”
He concluded by saying: “I am proud of the Al-Sadd players, proud of everything they did today, both the starters and the substitutes were up to their responsibilities. Our goal is to continue like this.”
