Meshaal Barsham: I enjoy penalty shootouts – what matters most is the win and the title
Al Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham congratulated his teammates, the technical and administrative staff, and the fans after winning the Pride and Glory Cup following their victory over Al Duhail in the final.
Speaking after the match, he said: “It was a very tough game against a strong team like Al Duhail, who took the lead twice. But we came back and kept pushing for the win. It was a hard-fought contest that went to penalties, where we managed to seal the victory.”
When asked about his success in shootouts for both Al Sadd and the national team, he said: “Thanks to God – it’s His blessing. I actually enjoy penalty shootouts, but the most important thing is winning and lifting the trophy.”
On the upcoming Amir Cup, he added: “This tournament means a lot to all of us, and we will give everything we have to try and win it.”
Paulo Otávio: We dedicate the title to Al Sadd fans and everyone at the club
Al Sadd defender Paulo Otávio expressed his delight after the team’s triumph over Al Duhail to win the 2025 Qatar Cup.
He said: “We’re overjoyed with our second title of the season. We achieved our goal by winning a tough, marathon match that went to extra time and penalties.”
He added: “We dedicate this trophy to the Al Sadd fans, to everyone at the club, to the management and my fellow players. We’re determined to keep going and deliver our best in the Amir Cup to finish the season on a high.”

Al Sadd defender Tarek Salman said after the trophy presentation: “Congratulations to all Al Sadd fans on this precious title. Winning this cup is the best gift we could give them—they stood by us and supported us throughout the season.”
He added: “As everyone saw, it wasn’t an easy match at all against a top team like Al Duhail. But we showed determination and managed to bring the title home. Thanks to God, we succeeded in adding our second trophy of the season to the club’s cabinet—and hopefully, there’s more to come.”
Boualem Khoukhi: We want to end the season in style with the treble
Following the final, Al Sadd player Boualem Khoukhi said: “It was a very tough game that went all the way to 120 minutes against a strong team like Al Duhail. But we knew how to manage the match and finish it by winning this precious title.”
He continued: “With each passing season, winning titles becomes more difficult and competitive. We’re determined to give our best in the Amir Cup so we can end the season by completing the treble.
