Al-Sadd coach Félix Sánchez expressed his joy after his side’s dramatic penalty shootout victory over Al-Duhail and the team’s triumph in the 2025 Qatar Cup.
Speaking after the trophy presentation, he said: “I’m extremely happy with our second title this season, following the league win. I’m thrilled for the players and the fans, and proud of the success we’ve achieved. I congratulate the players for their fighting spirit and the desire they showed throughout a tough match against a strong opponent like Al-Duhail.”
He continued: “It was a tough and intense match that went into extra time and then penalties, which fortunately went our way and allowed us to secure the title.”
He added: “I had great confidence in Meshaal Barsham—he’s an excellent goalkeeper for both club and country. I was certain he would save at least two penalties, and indeed, he did, helping us seal the victory.”
He concluded: “Now we’ll enjoy winning the Qatar Cup before shifting our focus to the Amir Cup—the final competition of the season.”
