Ali Asad: We made up for the defeat to Al-Ahli

Al-Sadd midfielder Ali Asad expressed his joy at the crucial 2-0 win against Qatar SC in the rescheduled match from Round 8 of the QNB Stars League.

After the match, Ali said: “We thank God for this well-deserved victory against a strong and skilled team like Qatar SC.”

He added: “We lost a lot of points in the first seven rounds of the league, so we must approach every game like it’s a final and fight for every point to stay in the competition for the title.” ... 

Al-Haydos and Afif power Al-Sadd to 2-0 victory over Qatar SC

Al-Sadd’s first team regained its winning form with a 2-0 victory against Qatar SC in the rescheduled match from Round 8 of the QNB Stars League at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.

The win elevated Al-Sadd to third place in the league with 25 points from 14 games. Hassan Al-Haydos (45+4′) and Akram Afif (52′) scored the goals for Al-Sadd. Qatar SC players Omar Al-Emadi and Badr Banoun were sent off in the 50th and 65th minutes, respectively. ... 

Juanma: The defeat to Al-Ahli is history, we aim to win the remaining games

Al-Sadd coach Juanma Lillo spoke about the difficulty of the upcoming clash with Qatar SC, a postponed game from Round 8 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Juanma said: “We know it’s a team that’s at the top of the table because of its merits and that it has a very, very professional way of playing, and some players that are very significant. So it’s going to be a difficult game.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd lose 2-1 to Al-Ahli

Al-Sadd’s first team suffered a 1-2 loss against Al-Ahli in Round 15 of the QNB Stars League at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium on Monday. The match saw Akram Afif score the only goal for Al-Sadd in the 36th minute, while Al-Ahli scored two goals through Oumar Sekou in the 45th and 71st minutes.

Following the loss, Al-Sadd’s tally remained at 22 points from 13 games, with two postponed matches yet to be played against Qatar SC and Al-Duhail. ...

Mohammed Waad ruled out for up to 6 weeks with eye injury

Al-Sadd player Mohammed Waad has been ruled out for 4-6 weeks with a severe eye injury, which he sustained during the game against Al Gharafa in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League on February 15th.

Medical examinations revealed that he had suffered a severe bruise and would need 4-6 weeks to recover before returning to participate in group training. We wish him a speedy recovery. ... 

Reserve League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Ahli 5-3

The Al-Sadd reserve team defeated Al-Ahli 5-3 in the 2022-23 Reserve League Round 6 game that was played on Thursday at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.

With this victory, the Wolves increased their points tally to six, after two victories and four defeats.

Abdullah Al-Yazidi scored a brace for Al-Sadd (2′, 34′) before Ahmed Al-Saeed emulated him with goals in the 45th and 72nd minutes. Moaz Al-Wadia scored Al-Sadd’s other goal in the 37th minute. ...
