Reserve League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Ahli 5-3

The Al-Sadd reserve team defeated Al-Ahli 5-3 in the 2022-23 Reserve League Round 6 game that was played on Thursday at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.

With this victory, the Wolves increased their points tally to six, after two victories and four defeats.

Abdullah Al-Yazidi scored a brace for Al-Sadd (2′, 34′) before Ahmed Al-Saeed emulated him with goals in the 45th and 72nd minutes. Moaz Al-Wadia scored Al-Sadd’s other goal in the 37th minute. ... 

Hassan Al-Haydos: We have a strong deisre to compete, Al-Sadd always aims for the top

Al-Sadd captain Hassan Al-Haydos spoke of the importance of the Wolves’ 3-1 victory over Al-Gharafa in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League, and emphasised his side’s desire to compete for the title.

Speaking after the game, Al-Haydos said: “I’m happy with the victory, which came against a great team like Al-Gharafa, in an intense match for both sides, but we succeeded in turning matters in our favour, especially in the second half.” ...

Al Sadd recorded a 3-1 win over Al-Gharafa an exciting and deserved victory, 3 goals to 1, over Al Gharafa, in the match that brought the two teams together today, Wednesday, at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in Al Gharafa Club, as part of the fourteenth week of the QNB Stars League.

Baghdad Bounedjah netted a brace for Al-Sadd (8′, 56′) and Guilherme Torres added a third goal in the 92nd minute. Ahmed Alaeddin scored Al Gharafa’s goal in the 26th minute. ...

Al-Sadd midfielder Ahmed Sayyar said that his side is expecting a difficult game against Al-Gharafa in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League.

Al-Sadd head coach Juanma Lillo has stressed the difficulty of his side’s upcoming game against Al-Gharafa in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League.

Al-Sadd resume training to prepare for Al-Gharafa clash

The Al-Sadd first team resumed training on Sunday, in preparation for facing Al Gharafa in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League. The match will be played on Wednesday evening at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium.

The coaching staff were keen to work on the players’ physical fitness levels, especially after returning from a period of rest on Friday and Saturday, following the 3-1 win over Al-Arabi 3-1 in the semifinals of the 2023 Qatar Cup. ...

Al-Sadd head coach Juanma expressed his happiness after his side defeated Al-Arabi 3-1 to qualify for the final of the 2023 Qatar Cup.

Juanma said in his statement after the match: “The match was exciting and eventful after the red cards that were shown. We started the match well and played beautiful football, and created many chances even before the first red card for Al-Arabi. We deserve this victory.” ... 

Meshaal Barsham: We qualified for the final deservedly, the victory came with the efforts of all the players

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham stated that the team’s victory over Al Arabi, and qualification for the final of the Qatar Cup, was well deserved.

Speaking to the media after the match, Meshaal said: “The victory came as a result of the great effort made by the team in this game, as everyone worked hard to qualify for the final. Thank God we succeeded in qualifying, and we must now focus on the next match.” ... 

Al-Sadd defeat Al-Arabi 3-1 to reach Qatar Cup final

Al-Sadd reached the 2023 Qatar Cup final after defeating Al-Arabi 3-1 in the semifinal which was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Thursday.

The match saw three red cards – two for Al-Arabi (Ahmed Suhail and Marc Muniesa) and one for Al-Sadd (Tarek Salman).

Baghdad Bounedjah scored the opening goal for the Wolves in the 41st minute, finding his way in between several defenders before managing a shot that went in past Mahmoud Abunada. ...
