Al Sadd were officially crowned champions of the Qatar–UAE Super Shield for the 2026 football season after securing a 3–2 victory over Shabab Al Ahli in the match held today at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

The trophy was presented to Al Sadd by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Vice President of the Qatar Football Association and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Qatar–UAE Super Cup, alongside Jamal Al Merri, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the UAE Pro League, and His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Vice President of Al Sadd and Minister of Municipality. ... 

Al Sadd were crowned champions of the third edition of the Qatar–UAE Super Shield after defeating UAE side Shabab Al Ahli 3–2 in the match that was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Al Sadd Club, on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Shabab Al Ahli opened the scoring through Yuri César in the 30th minute, before Roberto Firmino equalised for Al Sadd from the penalty spot in the 55th minute. Akram Afif then put Al Sadd ahead in the 74th minute, but Mohammed Juma brought Shabab Al Ahli level again in the 78th minute. Deep into stoppage time, Firmino struck once more (90+6′) to seal the victory for Al Sadd. ... 

Italian coach Roberto Mancini confirmed that Al Sadd are fully ready to face Shabab Al Ahli in the Qatar-UAE Super Shield, which will be played on Saturday evening, January 24, 2026, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Mancini said: “The team is in full readiness after completing its preparations over the past few days for a match in which we are aiming to win and secure our first title of the current season. The match will be difficult, as we are facing a strong opponent with high-quality players.” ... 

Al-Sadd defender Tarek Salman expressed his happiness with the important victory that his side achieved with a 2–0 win over Al Ahli, in Round 13 of the Doha Bank Stars League.

Speaking after the match, Tarek said: “It was a very difficult match against a strong opponent like Al Ahli. We were patient and kept working until we managed to secure the win and collect the three points.” ...

With this win, Al Sadd raised their tally to 26 points. The goals were scored by Spanish forward Rafa Mujica in the 82nd minute and Hashem Ali in stoppage time (90+5). The match also saw Al Ahli player Khaled Radwan sent off in the 90th minute. ...

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham expressed his happiness with the 3-2 victory achieved by his side over Qatar SC at the conclusion of Round 12 of the Doha Bank Stars League.
