Javi Gracia: We know the importance of the Amir Cup, we will face Muaither with complete focus

Al Sadd coach Javi Gracia addressed the media ahead of the upcoming game against Muaither in the Amir Cup 2022 Round of 16 fixture, which is to be played on Sunday evening at Grand Hamad Stadium.

Speaking during the match press conference, Gracia said: “We know the importance of the Amir Cup, and we know that we have to continue playing with the same winning mentality, especially since this match is not like the league matches and we have to focus more.” ... 

Reserve League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Arabi 1-0

Al-Sadd’s reserve team achieved a 1-0 victory over their counterparts from Al-Arabi, in the Reserve Leage Round 8 game which was played on Friday at the Al-Sailiya Pitch.

With this victory, the Wolves increased their points tally to 8 from two victories, two draws and four defeats. Mahdi Salem scored the lone goal of the game. ... 

Javi Gracia: We didn’t perform as well as we hoped for against Umm Salal

Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia spoke about the importance of his team’s 2-0 win over Umm Salal in Round 18 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking after the game, Gracia told the club’s website: “It is important in some matches, where you are not at the level you hope to be, to get the three points. The opponent created space in the second half and threatened our goal more than once, but we managed to clinch the match with the second goal.” ... 

Meshaal Barsham: Umm Salal is a stubborn opponent

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham described his side’s upcoming match against Umm Salal, in Round 18 of the QNB Stars League, as a difficult encounter, and spoke of the team’s aim to keep winning.

Addressing the media at the pre-match press conference, Meshaal said: “It will be an intense and difficult encounter against Umm Salal. They’re a stubborn opponent and they’ve been performing well. Our goal is to continue our winning run and to get another three points.” ...

The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Monday, at the club’s training centre, in preparation for facing Umm Salal in Round 18 of the QNB Stars League.

Al-Sadd come into the match with great enthusiasm after the big 5-1 victory over Al-Gharafa, which saw the team raise their points tally at the top of the table to 43. In his statement to the club’s website after the match, Gracia said: “We played a game that was not normal. We gave an extraordinary performance after we played more than 75 minutes with ten players, we controlled the game in an excellent way and scored five goals.” ...

In his statement after the match, Tarek said: “Praise be to God, we played a very good match and the performance was wonderful. Despite the numerical disadvantage we suffered after the red card shown to Akram Afif at the beginning of the first half, our players were up to the responsibility and we got a five-goal win.” ...
