Internationals return as Al-Sadd prepare for Al-Arabi

Al-Sadd’s internationals rejoined the first team for training on Thursday, in preparation for facing Al-Arabi in the sixth round of the QNB Stars League. The match that will be held on Sunday evening at the Grand Hamad Stadium.

11 players from the Qatar national team – Hassan Al Haydos, Meshaal Barshim, Pedro Miguel, Khoukhi Boualem, Musab Khidir, Muhammad Waad, Akram Afif, Tarek Salman, Yousef Abdurisag, Abdelkarim Hassan and Ahmed Suhail – joined the Wolves camp on Thursday, in addition to the South Korean duo of Nam Tae-hee and Jung Woo-young, and Algerian international striker Baghdad Bounedjah. ... 

Ooredoo Cup: Al-Sadd conclude preparations ahead of quarterfinal against Al-Gharafa

Al-Sadd concluded their preparations today, Sunday, at the club’s secondary pitch, ahead of the match against Al-Gharafa in the quarter-finals of the 2020-21 Ooredoo Cup, which will kick off at 5 PM on Monday at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.

The Wolves qualified for the quarterfinals after finishing in fourth place in Group A with 7 points from two wins, two losses and one draw, while Al-Gharafa were ranked first in Group B with 13 points. ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd lose to Qatar SC

The Al-Sadd U-23 team lost 2-0 to Qatar SC in the Qatargas League fifth round game, which was played on Friday at Al-Shamal Club stadium.

With this result, Al-Sadd remain on six points after two wins and two losses, with a postponed match remaining from the fourth week, against Al-Kharaitiyat.

Qatar SC opened the scoring through Rashid Mohammed, who struck in the 45th minute from a penalty kick, and Saleh Hassan scored the second goal in the 59th minute. Both teams ended the game with ten men apiece after Al Sadd’s Fahd Khalifa and Qatar’s Saleh Hassan were sent off in the 71st minute. ...

International call-ups for Al-Sadd trio

The Al-Sadd trio of Baghdad Bounedjah, Jung Woo-young and Nam Tae-hee have received international call-ups for the upcoming FIFA matchdays this November.

Bounedjah will join the Algerian national team camp as they prepare to face Zimbabwe in two qualifying matches for the 2022 African Cup of Nations.

Al-Sadd notched up another victory in the 2020-21 Ooredoo Cup, with a 3-0 triumph over Al-Duhail in the postponed Round 1 game that was played at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.

The result saw Al-Sadd increase their points tally to 7 in Group A, after two wins, a draw and a loss.

Nam Tae-hee opened the scoring for the Wolves in the 3rd minute, before Saoud Al-Nasr doubled the lead in the 11th minute. Rodrigo Tabata scored the third and final goal from a free-kick in the 83rd minute. Al-Sadd ended the game with ten men after defender Abdulrahman Rashed was sent off in the 5th minute. ...
