Xavi: We cannot relax, we hope to continue unbeaten at the top

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez confirmed his players’ readiness for the upcoming game against Al-Ahli in Round 8 of the QNB Stars League, which is to be played on Saturday evening at Thani bin Jassim Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “It’s a very important game, and Al-Ahli will be a strong opponent for us, because they need to collect more points. They’re a a good team that deserves a better place in the table.” ... 

Ali Asad: We got a great win over Umm Salal

Al-Sadd midfielder Ali Asad described the importance of his side’s 3-1 win over Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking after the match, Ali Asad said: “We faced a team that was organised in defence and good at closing the backline, and despite that, we managed to win even after trailing by a goal in the beginning. We also missed several other opportunities to score.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd defeat Umm Salal 3-1

Al-Sadd came from behind to defeat Umm Salal 3-1 in their QNB Stars League Round 7 clash, which was played on Tuesday at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.

Umm Salal opened the scoring through Yaseen Al Bakheet in the 6th minute, before Akram Afif equalised in the 13th minute. Santi Cazorla put Al-Sadd in front at the half hour mark, and Andre Ayew made it 3-1 at the beginning of the second half. The result meant that the Wolves remained on top of the league table with a tally of 21 points from 7 games. ... 

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Umm Salal clash

Al Sadd Club concluded their preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 7 game against Umm Salal, with a final training session on Monday evening at the club’s training facility. The game is set to kick off at 5:20 PM on Tuesday, at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al Wakrah.

The Wolves go into the match with 18 points from 6 victories and sit at the top of the league standings, while Umm Salal are in seventh place with 5 points. ... 

Musaab Khidir: We are ready to face Umm Salal

Al-Sadd’s Musaab Khidir described his side’s desire to keep playing well as they prepare for the upcoming clash with Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.

In his statement during the pre-match press conference, Musaab said: “We will strive to win and continue our run of victories, despite the difficulty of the match against Umm Salal. We will work to keep displaying special performances and to keep winning.” ... 

Xavi: Winning the Amir Cup will be a motivation for us

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his happiness after winning the 2021 Amir Cup with a penalty shootout victory over Al Rayyan in the final that was held at Al Thumama World Cup Stadium.

Speaking after the match, Xavi said: “Our players played a good match and showed a great level, and I am proud of that. The match was an excellent final in all the details. Today, Al Sadd won a well-deserved title after a good performance throughout the tournament. I hope this will be a motivation for the rest of the season’s tournaments.” ... 

Al-Sadd clinch 18th Amir Cup and 76th overall title

Al-Sadd added a new title to its collection on Friday after winning the Amir Cup for the 18th time in the club’s history, raising the total number of championship wins to 76.
