Al-Sadd opened their 2020-21 QNB Stars League campaign with a 5-1 win over Al-Kharaitiyat, in the Round 1 game that was played at the Education City Stadium.

Santi Cazorla’s 27th minute strike gave the Wolves a 1-0 lead at halftime, and Baghdad Bounedjah doubled the advantage in the 54th minute. Cazorla then added a third goal in the 60th minute, before Rachid Tiberkanine pulled one back for Al-Kharaitiyat four minutes later. In the 71st minute, Al-Sadd made it 4-1 from a Mohammad Salam own goal. Akram Afif then came off the bench to complete the scoring in the 85th minute. ... 

The Al-Sadd first team squad wrapped up their preparations for the opening game of the 2020-21 QNB Stars League campaign against Al-Kharaitiyat, with a final training session on Wednesday evening at the club’s training centre. Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the opening QNB Stars League clash against Al-Kharaitiyat, Yousuf said: “I am happy to return to the team. I benefited a lot from my time on loan (at Al-Arabi) and I think I am ready to help the team (now).” ...
