Qatargas U23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Gharafa 2-1

Al-Sadd climbed to the top of the Qatargas U23 League table with a 2-1 win over Al-Gharafa, in the Round 8 game which was played at Al Shamal Stadium on Saturday.

The result took Al-Sadd’s points tally to 18, moving past Al-Gharafa to claim top spot on the league table.

Hassan Ahmed put Al-Sadd in the lead in the 19th minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the box, before Ali Asad made it 2-0 in the 41st minute. Al-Gharafa then reduced the deficit through Mohammed Ali Jamin in the 62nd minute. Al-Sadd goalkeeper Jehad Mohammad also saved two penalties in the 56th and 64th minutes. ... 

Al-Sadd resume training to prepare for Al-Wakrah

The Al Sadd first team resumed its training on Wednesday, after the break followed the 3-1 victory over Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.

The Wolves are preparing to face Al-Wakrah in the Round 8 game which will be played on Tuesday, December 8, at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. Al-Sadd are currently on top of the league table with 19 points. ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Umm Salal 7-0

Al-Sadd defeated Umm Salal 7-0 in their Qatargas U-23 League Round 7 game, which was played at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium on Sunday.

The result increased Al-Sadd’s tally to 15 points from 7 games in the league table, where they occupy third place. The game saw the participation of goalkeeper Saad Al-Dosari, after his recovery from the injury that had ruled him out since mid-October, in addition to Ali Asad and Salem Al-Hajri, who had both been out of action for almost 10 months due to Achilles tendon injuries. ... 

Mohammed Waad: We got a deserved victory

Al-Sadd youngster Mohamed Waad spoke of his team’s performance after the 3-1 victory over Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking to the meda after the match, Waad said: “We thank God for the deserved victory against Umm Salal, which is a good team. We were not complacent, but we were playing against a good team. There were some mistakes that we made and we must correct them in the upcoming matches.” ...

This result ensures that the Wolves remain top of the QNB Stars League table with 19 points from 7 games. Akram Afif (35’), Santi Cazorla (50’), and Hassan Al-Haydos (90+1’) scored for Al-Sadd, while Roozbeh Cheshmi (40’) netted the lone goal for Umm Salal. ... 

Hashim Ali: Our only goal is to win, nothing else

Al-Sadd’s young forward Hashim Ali spoke of his team’s desire to win their upcoming game against Umm Salal in Round 7 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Hashim said: “As you know , we are the only unbeaten team in the league. We just drew one game. The only thing we are looking for is to win, nothing else. Just win.” ... 

Saad returns as Al-Sadd prepare for Umm Salal

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Saad Al-Dosari returned to training with the first team, after recovering from an injury he had suffered during the Qatar national team’s friendly against Ghana in October.

Saad had suffered a head injury during that game, which ruled out him of the last few games for Al-Sadd. He then underwent a treatment and rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the national team’s medical staff. ... 

Xavi: We played a special game, happy to win and return to the top

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his happiness after his side’s big 4-1 victory over Al-Arabi, which took them back to the top of the QNB Stars League table.

In his statement to the club website after the match, Xavi said: “We played a special game in the Doha Derby. It was an excellent performance and it was possible to score more goals. We must continue in this way; we’re in a great moment.” ...

Al-Sadd registered a big 4-1 win over Al-Arabi in their QNB Stars League Round 6 game which was played at the Grand Hamad Stadium on Sunday.

This result ensures that the Wolves remain top of the QNB Stars League table with 16 points from 6 games. Baghdad Bounedjah (12’), Santi Cazorla (30’), Abdelkarim Hassan (61’) and Rodrigo Tabata (81’) scored for Al-Sadd, while Aron Gunnarsson netted Al-Arabi’s lone goal (74’). ...
