Ooredoo Cup final to be played on October 10

The Qatar Stars League (QSL) has announced the date of the 2019-20 Ooredoo Cup final between Al-Sadd and Al-Arabi. The match is set to be played on October 10 at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

The decision was taken with the consent of both teams, and after consulting the coaches, while considering Al-Sadd’s participation in the AFC Champions League. ... 

First team gets a break from training on Wednesday

The Al-Sadd first team players got a break from training today, Wednesday, following the big 5-1 win over Al Sailiya in Round 2 of the QNB Stars League.

With this victory, Al-Sadd remain on top of the league table with 6 points from 2 wins.

The coaching staff led by head coach Xavi Hernandez had the players undergo recovery training on Tuesday evening, before deciding on a day of rest on Wednesday, to get rid of fatigue. ... 

Al-Sadd announce AFC Champions League squad

Al-Sadd have announced the squad list for the 2020 AFC Champions League, which resumes with the remaining group stage matches, and then goes on until the semi-finals of the tournament, with all games being held in Doha. The matches begin on September 14.

Hassan Al-Haydos: I thank Al-Sadd for the confidence in me

Al-Sadd SC is pleased to announce that captain Hassan Al-Haydos has extended his stay at the club for the next five years.

The club management signed a new agreement with the player, keeping him with the Wolves until 2025. Al-Haydos is one of the most prominent Qatari players to have worn the white shirt, and this new five-year contract is a recognition of the great value he has as an essential element of Al-Sadd, and the Qatar national team. ...

Al-Sadd player Mohammed Waad spoke of his delight after the big 5-1 win over Al-Sailiya on Monday evening.

Waad said: “We are happy with this victory and we hope to continue with these big wins, in order to make our fans happy.”

As for his performance in the game, having earned a spot in the starting lineup, the youngster said: “The team plays as a group and my performance today is the result of the help I got from my teammates during the match.” ... 

Xavi: It was a great game from us, we were better than Al-Sailiya at everything

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his happiness after his side defeated Al-Sailiya 5-1 win their QNB Stars League Round 2 clash on Monday.

Speaking to the club website after the game, Xavi said: “All the players were excellent. The first 25 minutes were wonderful and we could have killed the match off. We suffered a little after they scored the first goal, but we came back in control again at the beginning of the second half, and we were much better than Al Sailiya at everything.” ... 

Al-Sadd defeats Al-Sailiya with another impressive five-goal show

Al-Sadd continued to impress in the new QNB Stars League season, after racking up another 5-1 victory, this time over Al-Sailiya in the Round 2 game that was played at the Education City Stadium on Monday evening.

The result kept the Wolves at the top of the table with 6 points from 2 games. Hassan Al-Haydos opened the scoring in the 7th minute, before Santi Cazorla doubled Al-Sadd’s lead from the penalty spot in the 30th minute. Magdi Siddiq then reduced the deficit for Al-Sailiya in the 41st minute. ... 

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Sailiya, Akram Afif ruled out

The Al Sadd first team squad concluded their preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 2 game against Al-Sailiya, with a final training session at the club’s training facility on Sunday. The match will kick off at 6:15 PM on Monday at the Education City Stadium.

The Wolves go into the match after earning their first 3 points of the season, after a 5-1 victory over Al-Kharaitiyat. Meanwhile, Al-Sailiya drew 1-1 with Al Rayyan. ...

Al-Sadd full-back Musaab Khidir spoke of the difficulty of his side’s upcoming QNB Stars League Round 2 game against Al-Sailiya, and added that the Wolves are capable of getting the three points.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Musaab said: “The Al Sailiya game will be tough. As you know, the team has changed after the last season, just as we have changed ourselves.
