Al-Sadd head coach Juanma Lillo spoke of the importance of the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 1 game against Al-Markhiya, which is set to be played on Monday at Khalifa International Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the season opener at the pre-match press conference, Juanma said: “The training camp in Austria has been very good, allowing us to know the players. Now we have the first official game coming up and it is important for us, because it will be beneficial to know more about the competition.” ...

Al Sadd’s first team goalkeeper Yousef Al Balushi, sustained a fracture in his left hand, during the last preseason friendly match in Vienna against Austrian side Wiener Viktoria.

After conducting the required medical examinations and scans, it was confirmed that Yousef had broken two fingers in his left hand, and he then underwent a successful surgery today, Monday. The young goalkeeper will need a treatment and rehabilitation period of 6 to 8 weeks. ...

Sunday’s training saw the available players undergo intense training, supervised by the technical staff led by head coach Juanma.
