Rodrigo Tabata: Facing Al-Gharafa will be difficult, the Amir Cup is my favourite tournament

Al-Sadd’s Rodrigo Tabata said that his side is ready to face Al-Gharafa in the quarterfinals of the Amir Cup, and spoke of his motivation to play in the prestigious tournament.

“It will be a difficult match,” Tabata said during the pre-match press conference. “Al Gharafa is an excellent team and we have great respect for them. We must be fully focused on winning the game, and we must play with all our strength to achieve this.” ... 

Xavi: Our match with Al Gharafa is a final, we must change our mentality after winning the Qatar Cup

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez stressed on the importance of the next match against Al-Gharafa in the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup 2021, describing it as “a final”.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference: “We have to change our mentality after winning the Qatar Cup, we are living through moments of celebration and we have to move from this stage. In my view Al Gharafa is one of the best teams currently in Qatar and they have become a lot better with their coach Slavisa Jokanovic.” ... 

Xavi: Happy with the win, we proved we are the best in Qatar

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez congratulated his players for the huge effort they put in during the Qatar Cup final against Al-Duhail, which saw the Wolves win 2-0 to lift the title.

Speaking to the club website after the game, Xavi said: “I am very happy with the team’s performance. We played a great game and the performance was more than excellent. We played with passion and spirit throughout the match and we deserved this win.” ...

Qatar Cup 2021: Al-Sadd lift the title after 2-0 win over Al-Duhail

Al-Sadd were crowned as champions of the 2021 edition of the Qatar Cup, after a 2-0 victory over Al-Duhail in the final which was played at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Friday.

Baghdad Bounedjah scored both goals of the game (9′, 77′) to give Al-Sadd their 8th title in the competition. Al-Duhail ended the game with ten men after Sultan Al-Braik was sent off in stoppage time. ... 

Hassan Al-Haydos: Minor details will settle the Qatar Cup final

Al Sadd captain Hassan Al Haydos addressed the media ahead of the Qatar Cup final against Al-Duhail.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of Friday’s clash, Al-Haydos said: “We have to admit that the final will be very difficult as Al Duhail have begun to gradually return to their top level. They are clearly presenting good levels in the league. They also played well in the FIFA Club World Cup and Amir Cup. ... 

Xavi: We are looking forward to defeating Al Duhail and retaining the Qatar Cup

“We are happy to play the final for a second year in a row. We are looking forward to playing well and winning the Qatar Cup. We want to add this title to our trophy cabinet. The good thing for me is that since I started training with Al Sadd, the team is present in all finals and we hope to bag another trophy. The title is won, the finals are won and not played. ... 

Xavi: It was a crazy game, we deserved to win

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez described the derby clash with Al-Arabi as a “crazy game” after it ended in a thrilling 3-2 win for the Wolves.

Speaking to the club website after the game, Xavi said: “It was a crazy game and we deserved to win it. We respect Al-Arabi a lot but they wasted a lot of time throughout the game and so our win was fully deserved.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd come from behind to beat Al-Arabi 3-2

Al-Sadd clinched the Doha Derby with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Al-Arabi, in the QNB Stars League Round 17 clash which was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Monday evening.

Sebastian Soria scored in the tenth minute to give Al-Arabi an early lead, and it took until the 66th minute for Al-Sadd’s equaliser to arrive through Rodrigo Tabata. Youssef Msakni then restored Al-Arabi’s advantage in the 77th minute, before Al-Sadd staged a late comeback through goals from Baghdad Bounedjah and Santi Cazorla in the 90th and 92nd minutes respectively. ... 

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Arabi clash

Al-Sadd concluded their preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 17 game against Al-Arabi with the final training session which was held on Sunday evening at the club’s training facility. The match is set to kick off at 7:15 PM on Monday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
