Al-Sadd coach Félix Sánchez expressed his joy after his side’s dramatic penalty shootout victory over Al-Duhail and the team’s triumph in the 2025 Qatar Cup.

Speaking after the trophy presentation, he said: “I’m extremely happy with our second title this season, following the league win. I’m thrilled for the players and the fans, and proud of the success we’ve achieved. I congratulate the players for their fighting spirit and the desire they showed throughout a tough match against a strong opponent like Al-Duhail.” ... 

Al Sadd captain Hassan Al-Haydos praised his team’s achievement in winning their second title of the season by securing the Qatar Cup after defeating Al Duhail in the final.

He said: “We are happy with this new accomplishment—winning our second trophy this season. This title is the result of everyone’s efforts at the club, and this victory gives us the opportunity to regroup and prepare for the next stage: the Amir Cup, which is a cherished tournament for us.” ...

Sheikh Joaan awarded the gold medals to the Al Sadd players—champions of this prestigious and proud title—and later presented the championship trophy to team captain Hassan Al-Haydos, who lifted the cup and celebrated with his teammates in front of the jubilant Al Sadd fans. This marks Al Sadd’s second title of the season, following their triumph in the Ooredoo Stars League. ... 

Al Sadd claimed the 2025 Qatar Cup title after defeating Al Duhail in the final via a 4-3 penalty shootout, following a 2-2 draw in regular and extra time. The match took place on Saturday, 10 May 2025, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Claudinho scored for Al Sadd in the 63rd minute from the penalty spot, while Rafa Mújica netted the equalizer in the 86th minute. For Al Duhail, Michael Olunga found the net in the 48th minute, followed by Benjamín Bourigeaud in the 65th minute. ... 

Al Sadd qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2025 Amir Cup after a 3-1 victory over Al Kharaitiyat in the Round of 16 match, which was held today, Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Al Thumama Stadium.
